Subtropical Storm Wanda could become a tropical storm this week
The system has a low 10% chance of developing into a tropical depression or storm over the next five days.
Wanda could become a tropical storm on Tuesday, but the forecast path suggests it remains in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, avoiding the US altogether.
The cyclone formed from the remnants of the nor’easter that impacted New England last week. Wanda is known as a subtropical hurricane because this system derives its energy from non-warm, tropical sources.
