TRIASMEDIA – Subtropical Storm Wanda could become a tropical storm this week, The 21st hurricane of the season could become a tropical storm on Tuesday, the National Hurricane Center said.
At 5 a.m. Monday, Subtropical Hurricane Wanda had maximum sustained winds of 50 mph and was about 970 miles west of the Azores, moving southeast at 7 mph.
“A slight change in strength is expected over the next few days. However, Wanda could become a tropical storm on Tuesday,” the hurricane center said.
No beach surveillance or warnings apply.
The NHC also monitors a large area of low pressure resulting in irregular bathing about a few hundred miles from the Cabo Verde Islands.
